Bob Hollis

Bob Hollis was a pioneer of the scuba diving business, a local legend and member of the International Scuba Diving Hall of Fame. In the late 1950s, Hollis started scuba diving and began to take up underwater photography. This new hobby required specialized equipment. Hollis' engineering education led him to create his own housings and accessories for underwater cameras. In 1965, Hollis opened an underwater camera store called Anchor Shack in Hayward, California. He started receiving mail orders soon for his housings.
