There are many options for advanced technical dive certifications. TDI offers Intro to Tech courses as well as Advanced Nitrox, Decompression Procedures and Advanced Nitrox, while PADI offers Tec Trimix or Deep Diver courses. Advanced diving techniques are introduced in the TDI Advanced Nitrox course for recreational Nitrox divers. This course covers equipment operation, gas switching, and advanced emergency procedures such as liftbag deployment. For more information, please visit the TDI Website.
TDI Intro Tech course
The TDI Intro to Tech course is a standalone training course that helps you expand on your recreational training and gain a deeper knowledge of advanced technical skills. This course can be used as a foundation for TDI's advanced courses such as Advanced Nitrox or Decompression Procedures. Or, it could be used as refresher material for people who have already completed technical courses. During the course, technical instructors at TDI can assess your skills.
The TDI Intro to Tech course can be used by divers who haven't dived before with twin cylinders and a wing. This course also covers advanced control of buoyancy and gas management. Students will also gain situational awareness as well as trim skills. The course can either be taken in the open cenotes of the ocean or in areas that have similar swimming pool conditions. Advanced gas planning techniques are also taught. This course is designed to improve your open water diving skills and introduce you to the technical equipment configurations. Advanced gas planning techniques will be taught. This course is not for decompression, but you can use enriched air-nitrox mixtures during it.

Course in TDI Advanced Nitrox & Decompression Procedures
TDI Advanced Nitrox & Deco Procedures Courses prepare divers to perform accelerated and staged compression. Students will learn advanced gas planning skills and management techniques to ensure their dives are as safe and enjoyable as possible. Students also learn how they manage their equipment and plan to handle any unexpected events. Four dives at a maximum depth limit of 40 meters (130 feet) are included in the TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Techniques course.
This course is available as either a standalone or part of an Advanced Nitrox or Decompression Procedures certificate. Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures classes are performance-based and last for four days. Students complete six dives and two dives below 30 meters. Students complete the course according to their experience and personal requirements. This course prepares students to dive in advanced technical conditions, including wrecks in Scapa Flow or the UK.
PADI Tec Trimix course
PADI Tec Trimix90 is the final stage in the PADI Technical Diver circuit. This certification course opens doors to deeper dives and allows divers to discover new places. This course can only be taken by experienced tec divers that want to expand their horizons and explore deeper environments. A valid dive license is required. You also need to pass a medical check in order to be certified as trimix diving. You will need two 30cf stage bottles, a face mask and a pair of fins for this certification.
For the PADI Tec Trimix course, the Tec Trimix 65 diver must have logged at least 350 dives, including at least 50 decompression dives with a trimix less than 21 percent oxygen. The course also focuses on technical diving techniques and protocols. Multiple teaching scenarios are also included in the course. It is the highest level of technical diving certification. The requirements are much more stringent than the PADI Tec Diver certification.

PADI Tec Deep Diver course
PADI's Tec Deep Diver certification offers recreational divers more advanced training. This certification covers four dives and includes a practice of safety stops as well as descents. You will also practice the use of technical diving equipment, such as a side-mounted cylinder and EANx. Also, you'll learn how to plan a deep dive as well as manage your gas supply. It's possible to take your lessons online or offline, and the PADI Tec eLearning program allows you to do it at your own pace.
This program is two years long, unlike the PADI courses. First, you'll need to get a Tec 50 diving certification from an authorized organization. The qualifying certification must cover technical diving, decompression diving up to 50 metres and pure oxygen diving. Additionally, the PADI Course Director conducting the Tec Deep Instructor course may also offer Tec 50 diver level training. Tec Deep Diver certification will be issued to you by the PADI Course Director after completion of the Tec Deep Instructor training.
