A dive master allows others to dive underwater. This is done by leading organised and recreational dives. In many countries, the dive master qualification is the required level for divers with supervisory or guide responsibility. It is not possible for everyone to become a diving master. But, it is possible to become a master dive instructor if your qualifications are right. Listed below are some of the benefits of becoming a dive master.

Description of the job for a diving master

What is the job of a divemaster? It involves many duties such as assessing the risk of diving, supervising customer divers, giving briefings and leading groups through a diver's dive. The job description of a dive master is more varied. Divers can be responsible in many different areas of the dive shop, such as general operation and social presence.

Instructors and supervisors of diving techniques teach and supervise in open water or swimming pools. They also supervise other activities like navigation exercises. Open water diving instructors have the responsibility of leading students on tours, which includes the navigation exercise and the surface swimming portion. An instructor in diving may also oversee the certification of divers. Diving instructors' legal responsibility varies from one country to the next. In certain countries, however, the legal responsibility of diving instructors is exempted if the instructor signs a waiver.

Certification requirements

To become a Divemaster, you will need to take a course. Divemaster classes cover topics such as managing divers, setting up dive sites, and finding the best flow. The minimum number of dives candidates need to have completed must be at least 60. Instructors on dive courses can also benefit from the assistance of Divemasters, who can help novice divers learn theory and practice their skills.

In addition to taking courses, Dive masters must pass a two-part examination. To pass the exam, candidates must score at least 75% on each part. The PADI Instructor Guide and the eRDPML will be used to prepare for the exam. Students are required to create an emergency response plan and practice five waterskills drills. The combined scores must be at least fifteen. After completing the course, divemasters must receive certification.

Internship requirement

You have many internship options for becoming a Divemaster. You can help with other PADI courses or set up dive sites depending on your preferences. Your assistance may be needed for skill circuits. There will be a consistent pattern to your internship. A typical internship will last for eight weeks. During this period, you may be able to become an Advanced Open Water Diver. After four to 6 weeks of training you can become an Advanced Open Water Diver or Divemaster.

Additionally, you may be able to receive the necessary manuals, certification, and equipment as part of your internship. You should also be aware of the requirements before enrolling in any Divemaster course.
