Scuba Diving Essentials

What is the essential scuba diving equipment? This article will outline the most important scuba diving equipment for your adventure. These equipment include the Backplate, Buoyancy compensator and Submersible pressure gauge. It will also cover the importance of the regulator. Each piece of equipment has a different importance depending on the situation. These pieces will ensure you are safe diving. But how do I know what items to get?

Face mask

You should take a few things into consideration when selecting a facemask for your scuba diving gear. It doesn't really matter if you want to dive for pleasure, or for work. The most important thing is what kind of diving you will use it for. The mask you choose must allow you air to flow through your nose without allowing water to pool at the bottom. A majority of diving masks have an edge tilting to the skirt that draws water away from the bottom. Some include a oneway purge device.

Submersible pressure gauge

A gauge is a device that tells divers the air pressure in their tank, current dive time, depth and direction of travel. The gauge can be attached to the regulator via a high-pressure hose or held on a console. The gauge can be used easily and may even come with a wristband. The submersible pressure gage measures the amount of air left in a cylinder. In the United States, it is measured in pounds per sq inch (Psi).

Backplate

The backplate of scuba diving equipment plays a key role in ensuring that you stay safe while underwater. While the metal backplate has become the standard for technical divers, not everyone who dives with one should. Divers new to diving are misled into believing that a backplate is necessary. But the backplate's history is far more complicated than that. These are some things that you need to know about the backplate.

Compass

A scuba diver should always have a compasse with him when he dives. There are many types available. All require the diver to have both hands on it. The most common type is a compass mounted to a console. It's best for survey work because you need to be level to obtain an accurate bearing. However it's not very useful when you are under water.
