Bob Hollis
Bob Hollis, a pioneer in the diving industry and a local legend, is a member of International Scuba Diving Hall of Fame. He began scuba diving in the late 1950s and developed an interest in underwater photography. This new hobby required specialized equipment. Hollis, who holds an engineering degree, developed his own housings to fit underwater cameras. Hollis established Anchor Shack, a Hayward-based store selling underwater cameras in 1965. Soon, he began receiving mail orders about his housings.

The Hollis Scuba Oceanic brand has become one of the most famous and well-known names in Scuba Diving. The company was founded by Bob Hollis back in 1972 and has been synonymous with high-quality scuba equipment. Its products include rebreathers as well dive computers and unique diving masks with headsup displays. They have also been involved in the development of military diving equipment, including the MK-25, which is used by US Navy frogmen and other naval work divers.

Recalled dive computers
Hollis's Scuba has recalled several dive computers that could cause drowning. The defective air flow control system on the recalled dive computer could cause a diver to lose control of his breathing underwater. These dive computers were purchased between November 2010 to July 2012 for around $1200. The defective units can be returned directly to the manufacturer or dealer for repair.
