You must take a scuba divers course if your goal is to become a cave diver. This course includes four scuba diver dives. Your instructor can also help you plan your dives and manage your orientation. The course will prepare you to dive in caves.
Safety rules
Cave diving safety protocols follow the Rule of Threes. Cave divers should have at least three sources of light, and two tanks. To ensure they are able to survive the dive, they should separate their gas into three sections. If the dive team is experienced, and has had experience diving in caves before, it is better to use a conservative gas management strategy. Cave divers should not only avoid cave hazards but also practice safe diving practices.
Equipment
Cave diving is a sport that requires specific equipment. It is important to carry two types of safety reels. The one should be used for running guideline and the other should be used while the diver is in the cavern. When preparing for a cavern dive, make sure that each diver has a safety reel with sufficient line to reach the cave's entrance and the farthest permanent line. Many manufacturers will bundle the spools with guideline at the edge when you purchase a new reel. This makes them more likely to jam. To avoid jamming, remove approximately 10 meters (30ft), of line prior to use.
Maximum penetration
TDI offers a cavern diving course for scuba divers who want to dive in areas that do not allow direct vertical access. This includes overhangs and cavern diving. It is not mandatory to sign up for a cavern dive course. However, the course will provide the necessary skills to make the most of the environment. This course will help you navigate dangerously through the small spaces that are sometimes hidden from your eyes.
Maximum depth
Cavern diving has some limitations. Cavern diving should not be done at night. Cavern diving requires more training than other types. If you're curious about diving in caverns, you'll need to learn the basic cave safety procedures and know your limits. Before you dive in caves, you should have experience with it. You can then embark on a journey into cavern diving.
