Advanced Technical Diving Certifications

how old do you have to be to scuba dive

There are many options for advanced technical dive certifications. TDI offers Intro to Tech, Advanced Nitrox, and Decompression Procedures courses. PADI offers Tec Trimix as well as Deep Diver courses. Advanced diving techniques are introduced in the TDI Advanced Nitrox course for recreational Nitrox divers. The course covers equipment, gas switching, emergency techniques, and more. For more information, visit the TDI website.

TDI Intro To Tech Course

The TDI Intro to Tech Course is a standalone training class that can help you increase your recreational skills and deepen your technical knowledge. It can also be used as a gateway to TDI’s more advanced courses, like Advanced Nitrox (Decompression Procedures) and Advanced Nitrox (Decompression Procedures). For those who have completed technical courses, it can be used to refresh your knowledge. During the course technical instructors from TDI will evaluate your skills.

The TDI Intro to Tech course is for divers who have never used twin cylinders or a wing. It also covers advanced gas management and buoyancy control. Students will also gain situational awareness as well as trim skills. The course is taught in the sea or in open cenotes that offer conditions similar to swimming pools. Advanced gas planning techniques and methods will also be covered. This course is designed for open water divers to improve their skills and introduce them to the technical equipment configurations. Advanced gas planning techniques are also taught. This course is not for decompression, but you can use enriched air-nitrox mixtures during it.

TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures course

TDI Advanced Nitrox and Deco Procedures courses prepare divers for accelerated and staged decompression. Students will learn advanced gas planning skills and management techniques to ensure their dives are as safe and enjoyable as possible. Students also learn how to manage their equipment and plan for contingencies. A TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Courses includes four dives at a maximum depth reach of 40m (130ft).

This course can be taken either as a standalone or in conjunction with an Advanced Nitrox or Decompression Procedures certification. Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures courses last four days and are performance-based. Students must complete six dives, and two below 30m dives. Students complete the course based on their personal experience and requirements. This course prepares students for advanced technical diving, including wrecks in Scapa Flow and the UK.

PADI Tec Trimix course

The PADI Tec Trimix90 course is the final part of the PADI Technical Divers open circuit. This certification course opens doors to deeper dives and allows divers to discover new places. This course can only be taken by experienced tec divers that want to expand their horizons and explore deeper environments. You must hold a valid diving license and pass a medical exam to become certified in trimix diving. Two 30cf stage bottles are required and a mask.

The Tec Trimix 65 diver must log at least 350 dives and at least 50 decompression dives using less than 21 percent oxygen for the PADI Tec Trimix course. The course also covers technical diving techniques. This course includes many teaching scenarios. It is the most advanced course for technical diving certification. However, it is worth noting that the requirements are more demanding than the standard PADI Tec Diver course.

PADI Tec Deep Diver course

The PADI Tec Deep Diver certification is a more advanced course for recreational divers. This certification includes four dives. It also covers safety stops and descents. The technical diving equipment you use, such as a side mounted cylinder and EANx, will be practiced. Additionally, you will learn how to plan deep dives and manage your gas supply. Online or offline lessons are possible with the PADI Tec eLearning system. You can also take your lessons at your own pace.

Unlike the previous PADI courses, this program can be completed in two years. First, you'll need to get a Tec 50 diving certification from an authorized organization. The qualifying certification must cover technical diving, decompression diving up to 50 metres and pure oxygen diving. The Tec Deep Instructor course can also be taught by the PADI Course director. Upon completion of the Tec Deep Instructor course, the PADI Course Director will issue you a Tec Deep Diver certification.
